Seabury MeDical Non-attendance Policy

We understand that it can sometimes be difficult to get a routine appointment with a Doctor or Nurse, however one thing that makes this increasingly difficult to overcome is the problem of missed appointments.

A ”missed appointment” occurs when:

  • an appointment is not attended and
  • the patient has not contacted the Practice in advance to cancel it or
  • Where the cancellation is so late that it makes it impossible to allocate that time to another Patient who needs treatment (less than 1 hours notice)

Avoid a “Missed Appointment”

If you cannot attend or no longer need an appointment, please let us know in advance.

If you need to cancel an appointment you can do this in any one of the following ways:

  1. In person at the Reception Desk
  2. Telephone: 01 845 4847
  3. Email – office@seaburymedical.ie (minimum 2 hours notice)

Non-Attendance Policy

1st Missed Appointment

Text notification that an appointment has been missed.

2nd Missed Appointment

- Private Patient - Text notification that a second appointment has been missed. Advanced payment required for future appointments.

- GMS/DVC  - Text notification that a second appointment has been missed. Patient is at risk of being re-assigned.

3rd Missed Appt - GMS/DVC Only

- Letter to patient advising them that they will be reassigned to another GP by the HSE

If a new patient fails to turn up for their first patient appointment, it is the policy of the practice not to offer a further appointment, such is the demand for appointments.
